The Shopping List

The BrickSeek Shopping List feature, which is exclusive to Extreme members, is a great way to make the most out of your trips to the stores. With the BrickSeek Shopping List feature, you can build up store specific lists of items that you’ve recently searched for instead of manually writing down lists of items and forgetting them. Another reason that makes the BrickSeek Shopping List more efficient than just writing down a list of items is that you can refresh your shopping list on BrickSeek to update any changes in pricing or inventory at that store. The Shopping List feature allows you to add a total of 120 items to your list. For our more frequent shoppers, an additional 125 or 250 items can be added to the Shopping List by signing up for the Shopping List add-on pack.

Adding Items to Your Shopping List

The most common way of adding items to your BrickSeek Shopping List is after searching an item locally using the Inventory Checker page. Due to popularity, we’ll use Walmart in our examples to make it easier to follow. First, we’ll start off by going to the Walmart Popular Searches page to look for items of interest.

Next, we’re going to take a look locally for the Straight Talk iPhone located at #3 above and we’re going to click on the image of the item to take us to the Inventory Checker for that item. The Inventory Checker page is going to load and automatically search the zip code associated with our Extreme account.

Once the Inventory Checker page has completed loading, we’re going to scroll down to see the local results to look for promising results that we’ll want to add to our Shopping List. In our example, one of our local stores has two of these iPhones in stock at $35 so we’ll add that item to our shopping list by clicking the + Shopping List icon for that store.

Once the item has been added to your list, the + icon will have a green check mark, as seen below.

Accessing Your Shopping List

Now that we’ve added items to our Shopping List, let’s take a look at how to access your list. The Shopping List can be easily accessed by clicking on the account icon in the upper right corner of BrickSeek and then choosing Shopping List.

Viewing Your Shopping List

Now that you’re viewing the Shopping List page, you’ll notice each store is separated into its own line. Each store has the items that you added to the list previously. Each item on the list includes the title of the deal; the SKU; the UPC; the stock status; the last known quantity at the time of the last update; the last known price; and the last time this item was updated on your shopping list. The Updated information is important to pay attention to and can be easily refreshed by clicking on the “Refresh Availability” button at the very top of the Shopping List.

As you can see in the above screenshot, we have some new items added to our list (the iPhone that we added in a previous step) as well as some items that have been on our Shopping List for quite some time and haven’t been updated recently.

Updating, Editing, and Sorting the Shopping List

Now that you’re getting familiar with adding items to and viewing the Shopping List feature, let's take a closer look at how to edit it, update, and how to sort the Shopping List when you make a trip to a store.

To delete something from your shopping list, click in the radio box to the left of the item to select it and then click on the “Delete Selected” button at the top of the Shopping List.

To refresh your Shopping List to update it for any possible changes in pricing or inventory, click on the Refresh Availability button at the top of the list. Searching an item on an Inventory Checker does not update the items in the Shopping List, they must be updated from the Shopping List page as described here. When you click the Refresh Availability button, a dialog box will appear that tells you how many items are going to be updated, which should also match the total number of items that you’ve added to your Shopping List counter on the left side panel of the page. This update may take a few minutes, simply reload this page to see the new updated information. You can see that we were able to update the items in our shopping list in the screenshots below.

When you are planning to visit a store, it is best practice to use the Refresh Availability button first to ensure that your information is up to date. Once you get to a store, click on the Sort by Nearby button to automatically sort the stores in your Shopping List in order of distance to the store. If you are using a mobile device, you may be asked to give the website permission to use your current location. Once the page has been sorted by distance, you will see an informational confirmation message at the top of the Shopping List page .

Here are before and after screenshots of the Shopping List being sorted by location.

Increasing the Shopping List Limit

If you find yourself running out of the allotted 120 Shopping List slots, you can increase the size of the Shopping List by another 125, 250, or 375 items by opting for the Shopping List Pack add-on. To quickly and easily do that, go to your account settings to manage your subscriptions and add-ons. There is also a step by step guide on how to do that here: https://help.brickseek.com/hc/en-us/articles/360051868073-Managing-your-BrickSeek-Subscription-Add-ons#shoppinglist.
